Q–Tips

.. is a brand of the household items known as cotton buds in Britain and (according to Wikipedia) cotton swabs in America. The brand is owned by Unilever, which is an Anglo–Dutch multinational with headquarters in London.

Wikipedia mentions that more than 200 million dollars' worth of Q–tips were sold in the USA in 2014. I'm not sure whether they're available in shops in Britain, but you can buy them online (for example at amazon.co.uk).

Once again, the Diamonds' question neatly avoids saying that Q–Tips is the American name for what we in Britain know as cotton buds (by including the word "often").

Q–Tips were also a British 'blue–eyed soul' band whose most famous member was Paul Young. They split in 1982, after Young embarked on a solo career. Q–Tip is an American rapper and DJ, described by Wikipedia as "one of the most acclaimed figures in hip hop."
